ASTANA, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan plan to launch an industrial trade and logistics center on their border in 2026, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said Friday during his visit to Kyrgyzstan, according to the Kazakh presidential press service.

At a press conference following his talks with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov in Bishkek, Tokayev said that bilateral trade turnover reached 1.7 billion U.S. dollars in 2024 and the two countries aim to raise trade volume to 3 billion dollars over the next five years.

According to Tokayev, the governments of both countries have been tasked with adopting a two-year roadmap to boost trade and establish joint ventures. ■
