NANNING, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Five people were killed after a heavy-duty semi-trailer tractor collided with a car on Thursday morning in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, according to local police.

The accident occurred at around 5 a.m. on a section of provincial highway S206 in Guiping City. Police rushed to the scene, but all five individuals in the car were pronounced dead after emergency rescue efforts failed.

Further investigation is underway. ■
